Loyalists Still Yet Persist In the Shadows of the World
4 July 2008 | By Mitch Bond | 3 Comments
We hereby invite thee to The Daily P.E.E.P.’s official Alternative to Celebrations of the Unjust Revolt in 1776 of Freemasonic Colonists against their Lawful Sovereign, HM King George III of Great Britain.
That is certainly a mouthful, but I ask all true patriotic persons to join me in a solemn toast at six this evening (Eastern Standard Time) for Her Majesty* and for the endurance of that monarchy which has rightful claim to these thirteen treasonous colonies. An establishment that begs the allegiance of loyal men of honourable mein.

The tradition was begun by Mr. Theodore Harvey, who established the ‘alternative celebrations’ so that right-minded loyalists should have some reason for merrymaking amidst those partaking of festivities in honour of that unholy rebellion.

*A Loyal Toast is conducted merely by lifting the glass and the senior member of the party saying, ‘The Queen’. This is followed by all persons present repeating said words and then sipping or in some cases draining their glasses. Afterward it is the norm to eat well and long, and to drink deeply. The finale will be a recitation or performance of ‘God Save the Queen’. Note that it is customary not to smoke until the sovereign has been toasted.

The following is a sketch of the good doctor that I drew recently. It is modeled after bust that I have viewed of Johnson without his wig.
White gauche, 4B and 6B pencil on unbleached paper. The above is a poor photograph, hopefully to be replaced with a scanned facsimile.

Note on Language
18 June 2008 | By Mitch Bond | 1 Comment
In all that I write on this web-space I have conformed my language as much as possible to the orthography and usage of Doctor Johnson, his Dictionary. And whilst certain aspects of my writing may appear quaint or even humorously archaick, perhaps it is because I am a man of principle that I am so insistent.
Our Sovereign, Elizabeth II
Royal Coat of Arms
Prayer for the Sovereign
O Lord, save our Queen, Elizabeth. / And hear us in the day when we call upon Thee. / We beseech Thee, O Almighty God, that Thy servant Elizabeth, our Queen, who by Thy mercy hath assumed the government of the kingdom, may likewise receive an increase of every strength, whereby becomingly endowed, she may be able to avoid the evils of vices in times of war to overcome her enemies and with her royal consort and children in all grace attain to Thee Who art the way, the truth, and the life. Through Christ our Lord, Amen.
Prayer for England
O Blessed Virign Mary, Mother of God, and our most gentle Queen and Mother, look down in mercy upon England, thy dowry, and upon us all who greatly hope and trust in thee. / By thee it was that Jesus, our Saviour and our hope, was given unto the world; and he has given thee to us that we may hope still more. Plead for us thy children, whom thou didst recieve and accept at the foot of the Cross, O sorrowful Mother! / Intercede for our seperated brethren, that with us in the one true fold they may be united to the chief Shepherd, the Vicar of thy Son. Pray for us all, dear Mother, that by faith fruitful in good works we may all deserve to see and praise God, together with thee, in our heavenly home. Amen.
